Bahamian Sailor Heads to Los Angeles with College Sailing Team


Local sailor, and Bahamas Sailing Association member, Brent Burrows II will be travelling to Los Angeles during March to compete in the Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup- along with the College of Charleston Varsity Offshore Sailing Team. 

Brent is an avid sailor that came up through the various sailing programs offered by the Bahamas Sailing Association and Nassau Yacht Club. Brent now is a sophomore student at the College of Charleston in Charleston S.C., pursuing studies in Business Administration and Economics, he is also a member of the 'club' sailing team at the college. 

Brent will be travelling to LA along with team members Luke Ackerman, Jay Greenfield, Hanna Horan, Nathan Akers, Charles Essi, and Brandon Folkman. The regatta will play host to 10 collegiate teams from all over the U.S. and will be sailed using the popular Catalina 37 keelboat. 

10 races are scheduled over the course of 3 days, this will be the first event that the C of C Offshore Sailing Team will compete in. Brent will serve as the mainsail trimmer during this event.
