MEMBERSHIP
There are two categories of
members:
- Active Members with the
right to vote and hold elective office such as recognized yacht/sailing
clubs and adult individuals
- Associate Members with
no right to vote or to hold office such as member of a yacht/sailing club
that is a paid-up member of BSA.
A Bahamian or a Bahamian resident shall be either an Active or an
Associate member of BSA to be
eligible to compete in sailing events organized and/or sanctioned by BSA.
As the BSA is a Member National Authority (MNA)
of ISAF, members will be guided by the constitution and regulations of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and
are required to adhere to its Racing Rules
of Sailing. Please refer to the Objects and Aims of ISAF below.
VOLUNTEERS & COACHING STAFF
The sailing
events and learn to sail programs are organized by unpaid volunteers. The
instructors are the only ones paid. As a result, 100% of funds raised for
sailing goes directly into the product of teaching and organizing sailing
activities.
